  • Neuropsychiatric coaching

Neuropsychiatric coaches generally work with clients with developmental neuropsychiatric disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD and previously Asperger's), ADHD (previously ADD), Tourette's syndrome, learning disabilities, or developmental language impairment (previously SLI). In everyday language, it is often referred to as "nepsy" or "neurodiagnosis.".

As a nepsy coach I support and guide my client to find resources and effective practices in their current life situation, for example to address challenges in life management skills.

 Areas of Interest

  • Depression and anxiety are quite common mental health challenges that stem from a variety of root causes. Certain phases in our life journey can increase the likelihood of developing depression and/or anxiety. Sometimes depression/anxiety can be a sign of another condition. I believe in reducing the stigma of depression and anxiety, as they are rather normal parts of human experience. Often the challenge is that we don’t understand the depression/anxiety, or have the tools to tackle its unproductive impact. Therapy offers a safe and nonjudgmental space to process the depression/anxiety and learn to manage it in healthy and productive ways.

  • Moving to a new country is a major life event that is both exciting and stress-inducing. Adapting to a new workplace or study program can be challenging. Relocation can involve significant changes in family and relationship dynamics. The absence of familiar support networks can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation. Parenting in a new culture and environment can pose some challenges as well. Immigrant/Expat mental health is a vital component of their overall well-being and successful integration in the new country and culture. I am a strong believer in cultural sensitivity and social justice when approaching the mental health concerns of new expatriates.

  • Addressing the mental health issues in the LGBTQ+ community is vital to reducing the stigma and discrimination that individuals often face based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. I believe that promoting understanding and acceptance creates a more supportive environment that enhances overall well-being. It is not only a matter of social justice but also a continuous and active journey toward creating a more compassionate and inclusive society. This includes addressing the unique stressors that LGBTQ+ community faces, including the intersectional challenges. Oftentimes, an individual’s gender identity or sexual orientation intersects with other aspects of their identity, such as race, ethnicity, or disability.

  • ADHD (previously also ADD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hypeactivity, and impulsivity. Individuals with ADHD may experience challenges in academic, occupational, and social domains. Additionally, they might experience feelings of frustration. low self-esteem, and difficulty maintaining relationships due to their symptoms.

ADHD presents differently in different individuals; therefore, tailoring the therapeutic approach to meet individual needs is important. Therapy provides a space to address the emotional aspects of ADHD. Neuropsychiatric coaching targets supporting the individual in basic life management, executive functioning skills, and strengthening the individual’s self-efficacy.

ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by challenges in social communication and the presence of repetitive behaviours or restricted interests. Individual with ASD may experience challenges in social interactions, communication, and sensory processing. Therapy targets addressing the individual’s social and emotional difficulties, reducing anxiety, and enhancing overall well-being. Neuropsychiatric coaching targets tackling the basic life-management difficulties through a more practical approach.

  • Parenting is a transformative journey that brings a variety of emotions, from immense joy to challenges. I believe parental mental health is a cornerstone of a healthy and thriving family. When parents prioritize their mental health, they create a foundation for a nurturing family environment that benefits all members of the family. When parents are supported, they are better equipped to face the challenges of parenting, which enhances the family’s well-being. Promoting healthy parents brings up healthy families and thriving children.

  • Women navigate a complex and multifaceted life journey, facing a wide range of challenges that can significantly impact their mental health and well-being. As someone deeply passionate about women’s mental health, I find inspiration in understanding and addressing the unique struggles that women face in various aspects of their lives. A woman’s journey is marked by strength and the need for a supportive environment. It involves juggling the complex demands of parenthood, the challenges of maintaining a fulfilling career, and the responsibilities of parenting as well as caring for aging parents.

  • Balancing work and leisure can be a challenging task in today’s fast-paced society. I believe our mental health is the cornerstone of our overall well-being, and it’s impact cannot be overstated. The consequences of workplace exhaustion and burnout often extend beyond the individual, impacting a larger cause. A healthy work-life balance is vital to preventing burnout and promoting overall well-being. Therapy equips individuals with the tools needed to combat and prevent burnout and exhaustion and create a healthier work experience.
